自動ブレーキ、トヨタの新型クラウンもリコール対象に [時事ニュース]
自動ブレーキは、プリクラッシュセーフティシステムとも呼ばれ、
自動車が障害物を感知して衝突に備える機能だ。
もともとは、「もうどうしてもさけられません！ぶつかりますっ」
っていう時に緊急作動して、衝突する時のダメージを
軽減するための機能なのだが、これに不具合が生じていて、
トヨタが「レクサス」の「ＩＳ３５０」やクラウンなど
４車種で計約２万台に及ぶ車種のリコールを始めた。
というのも、対象の車に乗って高速道路を運転していたら、
３０キロで走行していたのに10キロくらいまで自動ブレーキで、
本人が意図していないのに減速してしまい、
２トントラックに追突されるなどの事故がおきたという。
しかも5件も合いついで。
自動ブレーキの誤作動はなぜ起きたの？
直接の原因は、電波の乱反射を解析する機器の設定ミスの模様。
自動ブレーキは、前の方に電波をビビビッと出して、
その反射によって距離とか、速度とかを測っているんだけど、
電波は乱反射することがあって、隣の斜線の車と前の車を
機械が勘違いして自動ブレーキをかけてしまったそうな。
普通に走っている車に乗ってた運転手はそれはビックリしたでしょうね。
なにせ自分でブレーキをかけていないのに、
勝手に車が減速しはじめちゃうんだから。
自動ブレーキって必要なの？
もともとは、事故を起こしたときに致死率の高い、
大型トラックや、大型バスの運転手の命を守るために発案されたものなんだ。
なぜって、大きい車のほうが事故を起こしたときに死亡しやすいし、
あててしまった相手の殺傷能力も高い。
なにより、トラックのうんちゃんの居眠り運転などによる、
不幸な事故での死者を減らすことができるからね。
実際、大型トラックによる追突事故の死亡率は乗用車の約12倍と
えらい高いんだ。
国際的にも自動ブレーキは義務化する流れになっていて、
ヨーロッパのほうでは、2013年11月以降、
全ての新型商用車に自動ブレーキの装備が義務化されているよ。
自動ブレーキがついてるトヨタの車に乗っているひとは
当然、すぐさまリコール対象になっているかを調べて、
最寄のトヨタのお店に持っていったほうがいいんだけど、
心配だったら自動ブレーキ機能を オフにすることもできるよ。
ナビ画面下のトヨタマルチオペレーションタッチを操作することで、
自動ブレーキがが作動しないように設定を切りかえることができて、
その間はPCS警告灯が点灯するようになるよ。
技術が進んでシステムが複雑になると、
昔では考えられないような事故が起きたりするものですね。
個人的には、あければわかるくらいの仕組みで
作ってあったほうが安心だけど、
最近の車やバイクはブラックボックス過ぎて、
どうなってるかわからないからちょっと怖いと感じてしまいます＾＾；
